Ooh, I love all this rhinestone-esque detail on the Dolce and Gabanna s/s collection. It made me reminisce back to my childhood when I’d buy those sets of jewel plastic rings and necklaces, not forgetting those stick on earrings for every day of the week. Oh the joy that thoughts of these still manage to uproot from the depths of my brain!

Luckily enough, sequins never seems to go out of style and can be seen splattered across the high street throughout the year. This Asos revive dress, hit the nail on the head, mixing modern shapes with a familiar eighties feel and jewel tones.

Beaded tops and dresses can be snapped up at any good vintage shop, although expect to pay at least €50, as many can date back to as far as the 1950’s. If you’re SUPER lucky, you could pick one up at a car boot sale or charity shop for a fraction of this price.

Although these bejeweled dresses might have previously been associated with a more winter wardrobe, D&G juxtaposed them beside 1950’s sundresses, suggesting a more glamorous night time look for spring and summer evenings; no tights required!

Finally, a nod to my childhood obsession with these babies:
